"For everything there is a season, for everything there is a time."

Kayla here!  Thanks for stopping by!  I was born and raised in small town rural Nebraska.  I’ve seen several cows and quite a bit of corn during my lifetime.  I attended college at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, where I graduated in May of 2015.  I double majored in Theatre Performance and Dance, specializing in acting and modern dance, as well as all things movement related, including a love for stage combat.  I also have a passion for singing and constantly serenade my shower head, friends, and anyone who will listen.

I’ve choreographed for both theatre and dance shows, and it’s something I would like to pursue more. I also have experience in the costume realm as a stitcher and wardrobe crew aficionado.

Since graduating, I’ve been all over the country. I was also lucky enough to spend a seven month stint in Costa Rica working for a non-profit organization and medical clinic providing free health care to families in need.  While there I also taught theatre classes to a group of adults with different mental and physical disabilities, which really allowed me to work on my Spanish speaking skills!

I completed an 11-month professional Acting Apprenticeship at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati in July 2019. You may have seen me as a Night Maiden in ETC’s holiday production of The Frog Princess, #13 in their production of Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves, and as Chorus #3/Amelia in our apprentice show Bob: A Life in Five Acts by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb. I recently took this acting show on the road and now reside in the beautiful city of Chicago! Catch me performing & sword fighting in Richard III with Babes With Blades Theatre Company this coming Fall ‘22. I can’t wait to see what else will blow in for me in the windy city. Stay tuned for more in the upcoming months!
